I have found that meditation (or, as I practice it, prayer) makes a huge difference to person’s state of mind. I’m going to post a little video I often recommend to people. A warning- it does have a slight Buddhist flavour, so if you are uncomfortable with that, please don’t watch.
The point is to simplify something that people often make needlessly complex. There are times when we just need to hit the mental “reset” button. One minute (or less) of paying attention to your breathing (and nothing else) can give you that reset and prepare you to feel calmer, and more energized.
You can also use this as a moment of re-connection with God, by adding a simple prayer, like “Thank You” or “I am yours” during each breath in.
